Teaching & Learning

Curriculum

LISM follows the American Common Core and NGSS standards, while focusing on moral education and tolerance in order to build new generations of well educated, socially responsible, and globally aware citizens.

Elementary students are exposed to opportunities to develop essential skills, such as critical thinking skills, which prepare them for their middle and high school grades and ultimately reputable universities of their choice. To support young people to become future leaders, Liwa International School – Al Mushrif provides an advanced arts and technological learning-focused environment, coupled with a broad and balanced extracurricular program, including community outreach work.

Quran recitation is encouraged and improved through a dedicated weekly session. With an emphasis on correct tajweed and pronunciation, children are challenged to improve their recitation and memorization, which aims to nurture their spiritual, moral and ethical development.

How to Apply

Enquire online and our admissions team will get in touch with you and share the application form.
Complete the application form.
Submit a copy of your child’s passport, a copy of each parent’s Emirates ID & most recent school report, or
(to whom it may concern) letter from your child’s current school.
Upon receipt of the application form, your son/daughter will be invited for an entrance exam and interview.

Passport size photograph for the applicant
A copy of the applicant's passport, and (visa page for non-UAE citizens)
A copy of the father’s passport, and (visa page for non-UAE citizens)
A copy of the applicant’s Emirates ID (front & back) - please note that according to ADEK’s regulations, an applicant without a UAE national ID will not be accepted in the school
A copy of the parents’ Emirates ID (front & back)
A copy of the applicant’s birth certificate
A copy of the applicant’s vaccination card
A copy of the full family book (for UAE nationals only)
A copy of the final report card or the most recent report if not available at the time of admission
An official, attested transfer certificate if the student is transferring from a public school within Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, or if transferring from any school in other emirates
A copy of the electricity or water bill to show the residential address in the UAE
First-time enrolments (KGs or Grade 1) are required to provide the school’s registration office with the student and parent Emirates ID card

Extra-Curricular Activities

LISM provides a comprehensive range of extra-curricular activities to support authentic, engaging, and interdisciplinary student learning experiences. Clubs are designed to cultivate personal and social curiosity and confidence while promoting life-long health awareness.

Specific extra-curricular activities such as sports, games, music, reading, homework, Quran, art & craft, Arabic, French, and Spanish are offered school-wide.
